We want to represent the world in motion but do not want to be – and we do not want that our readers are – mere spectators of the movement that we describe. The Third millennium just begun throws us challenges that we must seize to be protagonists of a new industrial revolution. After that driven by steam in the 18th century, that of oil in the 19th and the technological one in the 20th century, in the 21st century the industrial revolution will be driven by biological resources, in the name of sustainable development of world economies, for which somehow – historical cycles – we will go back to where we started, to a civilization more careful to the equilibrium with the nature. Without sacrificing the progress.

Journalism has historically accompanied every revolution, because it was an expression of ideas, a laboratory of progress, which far exceeds any censorship. The widespread use of independent journalism was a phenomenon characteristic of the early nineteenth century throughout Europe. The economic changes that occurred in that period were followed carefully and continually commented on by a galaxy of thinkers, who used the newspapers to report the facts and express their opinions. So it was that in Italy there was a movement of ideas parallel to the movement which manifested itself in the social and economic life, which then would lead to the Risorgimento .

Il Bioeconomista wants to return to that kind of journalism: to describe the change and be starring in an independent way. With this in mind we take with readers a clear commitment:

– This blog is open to all comments, within the limits of respect for others’ positions

– The confrontation is free, without prejudice

– We are partyless but not apolitical. We think – with Rousseau – that “no citizen shall ever be wealthy enough to buy another, and none poor enough to be forced to sell himself.”

For our part, we claim the absence of a method to follow our attitudes.

Vogliamo rappresentare il mondo in movimento ma non vogliamo essere – e non vogliamo che lo siano i nostri lettori – semplici spettatori del movimento che descriviamo. Il Terzo millennio da poco cominciato ci lancia delle sfide che dobbiamo cogliere per essere protagonisti di una nuova rivoluzione industriale. Dopo quella trainata dal vapore nel 700, quella del petrolio nell’800 e quella tecnologica del 900, nel 2000 la rivoluzione industriale sarà spinta dalle risorse biologiche, nel segno di uno sviluppo sostenibile delle economie mondiali che in qualche modo – corsi e ricorsi della storia – ci farà tornare da dove siamo partiti, ovvero a una civiltà più attenta all’equilibrio della natura.  Senza rinunciare al progresso.

Il giornalismo storicamente ha sempre accompagnato ogni rivoluzione, perché era espressione di idee, laboratorio del progresso, che superava ogni censura. L’ampia diffusione del giornalismo indipendente fu un fenomeno caratteristico degli inizi dell’Ottocento in tutta Europa. I mutamenti economici manifestatisi in quel periodo erano seguiti con attenzione e continuamente commentati da una pleiade di pensatori, che si servivano dei giornali per riferire i fatti ed esprimere le loro opinioni. Fu così che anche in Italia si poté manifestare un movimento di idee parallelo al movimento che si manifestava nella vita sociale ed economica, che poi avrebbe portato al Risorgimento.

Il Bioeconomista vuole tornare a quel tipo di giornalismo: descrivere il cambiamento ed esserne protagonista in modo indipendente. In quest’ottica prendiamo con i lettori un impegno chiaro:

– questo blog è aperto a tutti i commenti, nel limite del rispetto delle posizioni altrui

– il confronto è libero, senza pregiudizi

– siamo apartitici ma non apolitici. Pensiamo – con Rousseau – che non debba esistere un mondo in cui ci sia chi è tanto ricco da potersi comprare un altro e chi è tanto povero da essere costretto a vendersi.

Da parte nostra rivendichiamo l’assenza di un metodo, per seguire le nostre attitudini.
