Reims is worldwide known as the capital of Champagne, the excellent sparkling wine that is made in the Champagne region of France using the traditional method (méthode traditionnelle). Founded by the Gauls, Reims became a major city in the Roman Empire and played later a prominent ceremonial role in French monarchical history as the traditional site of the coronation of the kings of France. From 19 to 21 March Reims will be also the capital of the industrial biotechnology and bio-based economy.
Indeed BioKET will be held this year in the French city. BioKET is an annual international conference, organized by Bioeconomy for Change, dedicated to Key Enabling Technologies and Innovations applied to biomass valorization to produce high added value products in the most diverse sectors of the economy. “BioKET is an opportunity to connect, exchange and build sustainable businesses and partnerships worldwide”, say the organizer.
The fifth edition of this annual conference brings more innovation, technology and sustainability to boost new businesses around the biomass valorization into high added value products. Among the speakers there are relevant players of the EU bioeconomy such as Christian Patermann, former director at the EU Commission, Michael Brandkamp, partner of the European Circular Bioeconomy Forum and Nicolò Giacomuzzi Moore, executive director of CBE JU.
