Neste, LyondellBasell, Biofibre and Naftex bring biopolymers in the construction sector

Neste, LyondellBasell, Biofibre and Naftex have created a value chain to combine bio-based polymers with natural fiber for the manufacturing of construction elements. The combination of polymers with measurable bio-based content and natural fiber in construction elements creates carbone storage which can help tackle climate change.

LyondellBasell and Neste started the first parallel production of bio-based polypropylene

The Maasvlakte, Netherlands, plant is one of three facilities that LyondellBasell operates in the Rotterdam port area. It is the largest PO/SM plant in the world where propylene oxide (PO) and styrene monomer (SM) are produced based on the company’s unique PO/SM technology.

LyondellBasell, one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world, and Neste, the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel from waste and residues,  jointly started the first parallel production of bio-based polypropylene and bio-based low-density polyethylene at a commercial scale.
