This collaboration was enabled by Elite Plastics, the UK’s leading manufacturer of polythylene films, bags & covers. This partnership marks a significant step towards reducing the carbon footprint in the construction industry both in the UK and across other countries where Michelmersh operates in Europe.
Michelmersh has always been at the forefront of sustainability in the construction industry, consistently exploring new ways to minimize environmental impact. Michelmersh has already lead numerous decarbonisation projects such as the world’s first hydrogen fired bricks and focuses on evolving its already efficient production methods with state-of-the-art technology, reporting systems and quality standards. As part of this commitment, I’m greenTM bio-based polyethylene integrates Michelmersh’s initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint. Michelmersh has taken steps to reduce packaging and single use plastics across their operations and for those products deemed necessary to continue to wrap, its clients will now start to find Michemersh’s bricks wrapped on I’m greenTM bio-based polyethylene film, manufactured by Elite Plastics.
“This collaboration is a testament to our dedication to sustainability and innovation. By integrating bio-based materials into our manufacturing processes, we are taking a crucial step towards reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a more sustainable future for the construction industry. We can be confident that Health and Safety best practice is adhered to and that the quality and protection of our products are maintained, whilst reducing our environmental impact ” Comments Sarah Le Gresley, Innovation Director for Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC.
I’m greenTM bio-based materials when integrated into products reduce their overall environmental impact. This is only possible because it is made from renewable resources that are sustainably sourced and during its growth sequesters carbon from the atmosphere. This approach not only helps in reducing carbon emissions but also supports broader sustainability and environmental stewardship goals.
“We are pleased with this collaboration with Michelmersh and Elite Plastics which aligns with our goals of promoting sustainability by contributing to significant environmental impacts by reducing the carbon footprint in the construction industry.” Richard Lambert, Business Development & Partnerships EMEA Bio-Polymers.
