Neste starts to supply sustainable aviation fuel to FedEx at Los Angeles International Airport

Neste and FedEx, the world’s largest express cargo airline, have agreed on the supply of 8,800 metric tons (more than three million gallons) of blended Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ to FedEx at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It is the largest SAF purchase by a U.S. cargo airline at LAX to-date. The fuel blend purchase will account for roughly a fifth of all jet fuel consumed annually by FedEx at LAX.

FedEx plans to use alternative jet fuel made from wood waste

FedEx, the global courier delivery services company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, entered into an agreement with Colorado-based Red Rock Biofuels to purchase alternative jet fuel made from wood waste. Starting in 2017, FedEx will blend the first 6 million gallons of this jet fuel at its Oakland hub, ultimately producing at least 48 million gallons over an 8 year term.
