As part of the COP26 climate conference, Deutsche Post DHL Group has announced a further step towards introducing climate-friendly aviation logistics. The Group has agreed a new partnership with Neste1 to supply the DHL Express division with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at the UK’s East Midlands Airport. In total, DHL will purchase SAF for more than EUR 60 million by mid- 2022, reducing around 70,000 tons of CO2. This is a first step for the Group to reach its ambitious 2030 target of meeting at least 30 per cent of its fuel needs in aviation through sustainable fuels.

Kinder Morgan is partnering with Neste to create a raw material storage and logistics hub in USA

Houston-based Kinder Morgan is partnering with Finnish company Neste to create a raw material storage and logistics hub in the United States that will support increased production of renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable feedstock for polymers and chemicals.
Upon completion of the project, Kinder Morgan’s Harvey, La., facility will serve as the primary hub where Neste will store a variety of raw materials, including, for example, the used cooking oil it collects from more than 40,000 restaurants across the United States, the company said.
Neste and Boston Consulting Group partner to reduce GHG emissions
Neste and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have signed a new agreement for the purchase of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™, to be delivered to airlines SAS and Finnair, covering the volume of all the flights with these carriers taken by BCG employees in the Nordics. Through this new partnership, BCG expects to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions on flights with these airlines.

Neste is testing renewable gasoline in Sweden

Until now, there have been no commercial drop-in solutions for replacing fossil gasoline to reduce high amounts of greenhouse gas emissions from conventional petrol cars, without investing into new vehicles or modifying the old ones.
Neste, the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), may be the first to have developed a renewable gasoline for such commercial use in the existing fleet. The final phase of testing is now beginning with the target to complete commercial tests of the fuel, and thereby enabling significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions from gasoline and hybrid cars.

The Finnish retailer will install recycling stations at its sites including a box for used cooking oil, which will be used to produce renewable diesel. The sorting facilities will be significantly increased as they aim to raise the recycling rate of waste generated at the station to almost 80%.
Neste has chosen the Port of Rotterdam for its next renewable products refinery

Finnish biofuel producer and oil refiner Neste has chosen the Dutch port of Rotterdam as the location for its next renewable products refinery. Neste said the new plant will be around the same size as the 1.5 billion euro ($1.79 billion) refinery expansion it is currently building in Singapore, which the company described as its biggest investment so far.

Neste and Avfuel Corporation joined forces to create an efficient, continuous supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the United States. Neste will provide Avfuel with SAF in volumes able to meet the growing demands of Avfuel’s customers, including fixed base operators (FBOs), airports, flight departments, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and commercial operators. Avfuel will be a branded SAF distributor for Neste, and will sell it under the brand name Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
ECBF raised €93 million from private and public investors for its second closing

ECBF Management GmbH yesterday announced a second closing of the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF). Reaching €175 million, ECBF has more than doubled its fund-size within two months after starting its operations. ECBF is the first venture fund exclusively focussed on the bioeconomy and circular bioeconomy in Europe. With a targeted fund-size of €250 million, it will be an important financial instrument contributing to the European Green Deal making Europe climate neutral by 2050.

Finnish engine manufacturer AGCO Power goes green with Neste
AGCO Power, a Finnish engine manufacturer will start using Neste MY Renewable Diesel at its plant in Nokia, Finland. The fuel will replace fossil fuels in all internal logistics vehicles before the end of 2020. Neste and AGCO Power will also work on a joint research project to develop an automatic fuel identification system.
