Seville in Spain is hosting the second edition of the BioINSouth Forum. The Andalusian city is for a couple of days the Mediterranean capital of bioeconomy, thanks to the forum that is bringing together leaders and experts from various sectors and disciplines from South Europe and beyond. Today they are discussing and outlining the R&I priorities in bioeconomy, in conjunction with the particularities of the South European regions, asking for a new political EU Initiative: BioSouth. If there is a BioEast it’s also needed a BioSouth to enlarge and boost the European bioeconomy.
Organised under the workplan of BioINSouth project cofunded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and the EU, the event is focused on the regional aspects of bioeconomy, and the development of R&I and industrial strategies and policies. Partners of this project are organizations coming from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, with a bridge to Czech Republic in order to link the BioEast initiative to the new BioSouth.
With unique insights from the CBE JU Work Programme team, and national/regional players and policymakers in the field of bioeconomy, the BioINSouth Forum aims at becoming a leading bioeconomy event at European level, building a bridge with other continents such as Africa and Asia.
