Two major French industrial leaders Danone and Michelin, the American start-up DMC Biotechnologies and Crédit Agricole Centre France, a key investor in the region, have agreed to create the Biotech Open Platform to bolster the development of advanced fermentation processes, particularly precision fermentation, on a larger scale. Precision fermentation is a revolutionary biotechnological process to produce bio-based materials and ingredients.

By incorporating UPM Biochemicals’ RFF, Artigo has achieved CO2 footprint savings of up to 0.5 kg CO2e/sq. meter and managed to reduce the weight by up to 5% per square meter flooring.
Global Bioenergies has successfully completed the basic engineering phase of its plant project dedicated to the cosmetics markets whose commissioning is scheduled for mid-2027. The engineering work carried out as part of the basic engineering has precisely defined the each of the units that will enable the fully integrated production of cosmetic-grade isobutene derivatives. It also confirms the project schedule and the nominal CAPEX of 65 million euros (i.e. a maximum CAPEX of 80 million euros taking into account contingencies).

INEOS Inovyn launched two new PVC pilot plants at its Jemeppe-sur-Sambre site in Belgium, to accelerate technologies for recycling PVC which is not mechanically recyclable today. It forms part of a strategic ‘Project Circle’ initiative, which aims to commission an industrial unit with a 40KT recyclable capacity by 2030.
