CVR Energy, Inc. subsidiary selected Haldor Topsoe’s HydroFlex technology for revamp to renewable diesel production. CVR Energy, Inc. subsidiary will base a revamp of its Oklahoma, US, refinery on the HydroFlex™technology to produce approximately 100 million gallons of renewable diesel per year. Topsoe will deliver basic engineering, license, proprietary equipment and catalyst for its HydroFlex™ technology.
AGCO Power, a Finnish engine manufacturer will start using Neste MY Renewable Diesel at its plant in Nokia, Finland. The fuel will replace fossil fuels in all internal logistics vehicles before the end of 2020. Neste and AGCO Power will also work on a joint research project to develop an automatic fuel identification system.
Neste brings Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to a significant number of new stations during April and May 2020 in Finland. With the expansion, Neste MY Renewable Diesel will be available at around 120 stations in growth centers as well as smaller towns.
Fleet drivers in Northern and Central California can now fuel up at multiple commercial fueling sites with high-performance, low-carbon Neste MY Renewable Diesel™, thanks to the recent opening of three new locations. The new cardlock stations join the first location in San Leandro, California, which opened in March 2019.
Renewable diesel fuel is soon to be much more accessible to fleet drivers looking to fuel up in northern and central California, thanks to cardlock locations that will be offering Neste MY Renewable Diesel™. This is the very first time vehicles can be fueled with this high performance low-carbon fuel directly at a station.
Starting in July, the airport buses at Helsinki Airport has been fuelled by diesel manufactured wholly from waste and residue. Finavia – a limited corporation owned fully by the Finnish state, which is responsible for maintaining and developing its 21 airports and Finland’s air navigation system – started a gradual conversion to using renewable diesel in all buses travelling between the terminal and aircraft at Helsinki Airport. It is also Finavia’s goal to encourage other companies operating at its airports to use renewable fuels.
Italian oil giant Eni, the City of Turin, GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti) and Amiat, an Iren Group company, have signed an agreement to launch a large-scale experimental project with Turin buses using Eni Diesel+, the new Eni fuel with a 15% of renewable component. Under the agreement, the Turin public transport company will pay Eni Diesel+ at the same price as the diesel fuel that its vehicles have used on the urban network up to now. This follows Eni’s success at the tender to supply the fuel for Turin’s buses.
Finnish oil refining and marketing company Neste and Fazer Bakery, the leading bakery company in Finland and Russia’s major markets of St Petersburg and Moscow, are joining forces with their “Doughnut Trick campaign”. The oil that was used to fry Fazer Bakery’s May Day doughnuts will be recycled by refining it to produce Neste MY renewable diesel. The value of the fuel will be donated to the Finnish chapter of the charity SOS Children’s Village International. The amount of diesel that’s made from the oil used to fry every three doughnuts is enough to drive a distance of about one kilometer.
The Traveling Sauna was inaugurated in Minneapolis on January 14, 2017. The sauna will be Finland’s centennial mascot in the United States. During the next twelve months it will travel all across the continent, driving altogether over 10,000 miles. At the inauguration ceremony Ambassador Kirsti Kauppi revealed the name of the sauna: it will be called Sisu.
